If your child has trouble seeing far away (nearsightedness, known as myopia), you can correct AND help protect their vision from getting worse as they grow! Meet MiSight® 1 day soft contact lenses specifically designed for myopia control and FDA approved* to slow the progression of myopia in children ages 8-12 at the initiation of treatment.

Myopia

Myopia is the medical term used for nearsightedness. Of all correctable visual impairments, myopia ranks number one. With this condition, the eye grows too long from the front to the back. As a result, images don’t focus on the retina. Instead, they focus at the front of it. With this refractive error, individuals can see things up close without any problem but everything at a distance appears blurry. Over time, myopia in children typically worsens. This refractive error puts them at risk of developing other problems such as glaucoma, retinal detachement, decreased contrast, and premature cataracts.

MiSight contact lenses work because of their unique design of peripheral defocus to slow down the progression of Myopia. These lenses in essence create multiple focal points in the retina. Your child may experience minimal blur at various distances, and this means it's working!

MiSight contact lenses are ideal for both mild and severe cases of myopia. We can prescribe MiSight contacts as low as -0.250 and as high as -6.00D and with some astigmatism.
